Our Commitment

Abbey Wood Health Ltd is committed to reducing its environmental impact and contributing to the UK’s transition to a low-carbon healthcare system. We recognise our responsibility to act in a sustainable, transparent and proportionate manner, consistent with national climate objectives and NHS priorities.

We have established near-term and long-term emissions reduction targets covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions, in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol.

Our Targets

●	Scope 1 (Direct Emissions): A near-term absolute reduction target, focused on reducing emissions from on-site fuel use and operational activities.
●	Scope 2 (Indirect Electricity Emissions): A near-term absolute reduction target, supported by energy efficiency measures and the procurement of lower-carbon electricity.
●	Scope 3 (Value Chain Emissions): A near-term absolute reduction target covering all relevant Scope 3 categories, including procurement, waste, business travel, employee commuting, and logistics, supported by supplier engagement and responsible procurement practices.
●	Combined Scope 1 and Scope 2: A near-term combined absolute reduction target to ensure coherent operational decarbonisation.

Timeline and Review

Our near-term targets are set against a defined base year and are intended to be delivered by FY2028/29, with progress reviewed annually.

Net Zero Ambition: Abbey Wood Health Ltd has a long-term ambition to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, at a minimum across our UK operations.

Ongoing Commitments

We will continue to:

●	Improve the quality and completeness of our emissions data
●	Strengthen our emissions reduction programme
●	Review external validation options, including alignment with recognised science-based frameworks, as our data maturity develops
